Dr. Andrew Galante

Dr. Andrew Galante attended Hobart College and graduated with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. He then went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1969. After graduation, Dr. Galante became a Second Lieutenant in the Naval Dental Corps stationed at Norfolk, Virginia for two years.

He returned to New Jersey and took a one year internship at Martland Hospital in Newark and became an associate of Dr. Louis Saporito, who was President of the American Dental Association and was selected Clinical Instructor in Fixed Prosthodontics at the New Jersey School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr. Galante holds a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)—the highest honor bestowed by the AGD. It represents over 1,110 hours of continuing education in the various disciplines of dentistry, such as implant, cosmetic, pediatric, periodontal, and orthodontic. Only 1% of the dentists in the U.S. have received this honor.

Dr. Galante opened his practice of Family Dentistry in Warren, New Jersey in 1974. He belongs to numerous Dental Societies and Dental Clubs.

Dental Team

The members of Dr. Galante's staff have an enormous amount of dental experience between them and a loyalty to quality dentistry in a professional setting. The many years they have been a part of Dr. Galante's team is evidence of their devotion and enjoyment of being part of one of dentistry's premier offices.

Angie Garces, Registered Dental Hygienist
Angie has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for two years after graduating from UMDNJ though she has been working in the dental field for over five years. She is very active in community service providing dental care for those who are less fortunate. She is very enthusiastic and loves to educate our patients in the importance of the proper care of their teeth.

Anne Liu, Hygienist
Anne has been a registered dental hygienist since 1998. She earned her degree from the New York University School of Dentistry. Anne has been working for Dr. Galante since she moved to this area in 2001. She had previously lived in Hoboken, New Jersey for many years. She is married and has one son. Her interests outside of dentistry include traveling, cooking, and watching movies.

Maureen Killian, Dental Assistant
Maureen recently graduated from the Dental Assisting Program from Central School and has an x-ray license. She will be filling the "large shoes" left by Joan, Dr. Galante's long time assistant who recently retired after 26 years. Along with a new career, Maureen also bought a house and got married. She enjoys watching movies and loves dogs. If Maureen looks familiar to you it may be because she was a manager at a very popular local restaurant.

Sarah Shern, Dental Assistant
We would like to welcome Sarah as our newest member of the team. Though she is new to us, she is not new to the field of dentistry. After working at the front desk for three years at another practice, she is now training to be a dental assistant under Dr. Galante. Sarah has an artistic flare; having studied graphic arts and has a very bubbly personality. When she has time, she enjoys volleyball, golf and playing with her many pets.

Susan Cooper, Office Manager
Sue has been our Office Manager since 2005 although she and her family have been patients of Dr. Galante since 1996. Having been a Senior Training Specialist for Royal Insurance Co. gives her an inside edge on handling insurance claims. You may recognize her from the Warren Twp. Rescue Squad. Susan has been a member for nine years, the last two as Captain. Susan is married and is the proud mother of two grown children; daughter who is an occupational therapist in Baltimore and a son who will soon graduate from Ithaca College in the Spring of 2010 and looking for a job in television. She is an avid gardener and loves to travel.

Lisa Lasner, Front Desk
Lisa joined our team in 2006 to assist Sue at the front desk. She sometimes doubles as the assistant to Maureen. Previously, Lisa worked in administration at the International Museum of Cartoon Art. She is married and has a daughter who is a physical therapist in Baltimore and a son who is attending Farleigh Dickinson University. She is a great cook, and travels when time permits.
