Televisions
To add to our patients' comfort, we now have flat screen televisions in our operatories for their viewing pleasure. Cable television and a DVD player are available. Patients can bring their favorite DVDs from home and watch while having their procedures completed. Our young patients will enjoy watching their favorite cartoon show while having the hygienist clean their teeth and apply fluoride treatments.
Digital Radiography
Digital x-rays replace the standard film with a small sensor connected to a computer. The x-ray can be seen in 3 seconds and uses 90 percent less radiation. The x-ray can be enhanced for better diagnosis and is stored on our computer system. We can e-mail the x-ray to insurance companies and other Specialists if needed.
Digital Panoramic X-ray
We have recently upgraded to a state-of-the-art digital panoramic x-ray machine. We can now take a digital picture of the entire mouth in just one x-ray that is much clearer than the old film x-rays. An additional benefit is that you can see the image on a flat-screen monitor within seconds. This digital picture is great for diagnosing impacted wisdom teeth, TMJ issues and positioning of secondary teeth—just to mention a few benefits. Should you need a specialized treatment from an orthodontist or oral surgeon, the digital panoramic x-ray can be printed out or e-mailed to the specialists' office.
Intraoral Camera
The intraoral camera is a handpiece with a light and video camera that can go into the mouth and show you your teeth and gums at 40 times magnification. It is a great tool that enables us to show you on a large monitor any problems so that we may co-diagnosis and educate you. Sometimes pictures better illustrate problem areas better than x-rays and these can be sent to insurance companies to expedite claims.
STA System
We have just added a great new system to our Dental repertoire. It is called the STA system. STA stands for Single Tooth Anesthesia. The STA is a computer controlled local anesthesia Delivery System (CCLAD). We can now numb a single tooth virtually pain free.
The advantages are tremendous. First, the sensation of the whole side of your face being numb is eliminated; as just the single tooth to be worked on is numb. Second, because of the slow computerized pressure system mode of delivery, the anesthetic can be administered with virtually little or no pain. Third, and maybe most importantly, the sight of the dental syringe is eliminated. A non-threatening hand piece is used to perform the procedure.
The STA system is just another of our innovative techniques to make your dental visit more pleasant.

VELscope Oral Cancer Screening System
Our office now utilizes VELscope, a revolutionary hand-held device for oral cancer screening. The VELscope handpiece emits a safe blue light causing gums and tissue to fluoresce. Under the light, healthy tissue produces fluorescence that appears as a bright apple-green glow. Suspicious regions do not fluoresce and appear dark. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is painless, non-invasive, and there are no rinses or stains required.
Caesy Education System
You have the ability to view over 200 video presentations that are 3-4 minutes long on such topics as implants, root canals, veneers and other cosmetic restorations, orthodontics, preventative dentistry and more. These presentations are beautifully done with great graphics and easy to understand step-by-step explanations of the processes. They can be viewed through our flat screen monitors that are in every room. We can also copy them onto a CD for you to view with your family at home on your own PC.
